Adelina Castaneda Gutierrez, 90, of De Leon, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017. She was born June 22, 1927, in Purisima Coah, Mexico to Pedro Castaneda and Maria Gutierrez.

Adelina was a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista of De Leon. She was a loving and devoted homemaker for her family. Adelina loved to read, write and tell stories. She also loved spending time outdoors and gardening. Her family was the light of her life and she was her happiest while spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Jose Meza, Juan Manuel Meza, Rodolfo Meza and Mario Meza; daughters, Irma Ramirez, Isela Robles, Graciela Ibarra and Maricela Perez; brother, Emilo Castaneda; sister, Aurora Acevado; twenty-five grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family. Adelina was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gabriel Meza; children, Rodolfo, Jose Euladio, Juan Euladio and Socorro; parents; and brother, Alfredo Castaneda.

Funeral services and burial followed in Acuna, Mexico.
