Obituary

Alice Catrina Solomon, 89, a lifelong resident of De Leon, peacefully passed from this life Sunday, February 18, 2024, at her home. She was born December 17, 1934, in Gorman, Texas to James Floyd Coan and Ursa Eleta Hodges Coan. Alice married her loving husband, Alan Ray "Tooter" Solomon on May 3, 1952.

Alice was raised in De Leon and graduated from De Leon High School. She attended the Primitive Baptist / Fair Haven Baptist Church. She retired from Thomas Propane after serving as their secretary for many years. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, and camping. She taught many family members to water ski and just loved spending time outdoors. She loved her family and was always her happiest when spending time with them. Alice was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, special sister and aunt, and loving friend to many. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheri Vera and husband, Rick; son, Alan Kent Solomon; grandchildren, Christopher, Justin, Michael, Mindy, and Chase; several great-grandchildren; sister, Ellen Wanda Warren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Alan Ray Solomon; daughter, Cindy Rawls; grandsons, Miceal and Cody; great granddaughter, Hayden; parents, James Floyd Coan and Ursa Eleta Hodges Coan; sister, Ona Dean Freeman; and brother, Lyndell Coan.

Graveside funeral services were held Thursday, February 22, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in De Leon Cemetery with Brother Matt Morton officiating.
