Allen Eugene Bibby, 88, of De Leon, Texas, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at De Leon Nursing and Rehab. He was born on July 26, 1922 to Marcelus Bascom Bibby and Wilton Brownlee Bibby in De Leon. He married Jaunda Shupp on October 5, 1946 in Stephenville, Texas.

Allen was a carpenter, farmer and rancher. He loved his family very much along with his horses and cattle. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during WWII. He was a member of First Baptist Church of De Leon.

He is survived by his sons, Danny Bibby and wife Sherry, Randy Bibby and wife Dana; daughter, Rhonda Auvenshine and husband Jeff; sisters, Joy Heath, Ima Jo Bailey and Modess Quackenbush; grandchildren, Misty Mendez and husband Pedro, Jennifer Swafford and husband Aaron, Brandy Garza, Joshua Bibby and wife Sara, Ezekiel Bibby and wife Krista, Asha Bibby, Matthew Bibby, Brittney Auvenshine, Justin Auvenshine and Josh Auvenshine; great grandchildren, Andru Mendez, Eyli Mendez, Ava Mendez, Cathrine Lopez, Michael Bibby, Keylenn Swafford, Trinidad Garza, Brandy Garza, Bella Bibby, Joshelyn Bibby and A.J. Stewart; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded by his wife, Jaunda Bibby; brothers, J.C. Bibby and Bascom Bibby; sisters, Venita Hammon, Mary Tilley and Hazel Berryhill; and parents, Marcelus and Wilton Bibby.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at First Baptist Church of De Leon. Burial followed in Downing Cemetery. Chaplain Joe Bernier officiated the service. Music was provided by Martha Bunting, Danny Bibby and Marvin McKeehan. Family received friends from 6-8:00 pm on Tuesday. Pallbearers were Cody Rhodes, Clayton Hudson, Tommy Hudson, Pedro Mendez, Aaron Swafford and Todd Hammon.
