Anita Lyn Hooker, 69, passed away November 30, 2016, in San Angelo, Texas. She was born September 14, 1947, in Brownwood. Lyn married Ray Hooker August 1, 1969 in Comanche, Texas.
Lyn was a long time member of De Leon First Baptist Church where she faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was also very active in the GA Ministries. Lyn was dedicated to serving others her entire life. She volunteered countless hours at the De Leon Community Clothes Closet and throughout the community in many other capacities as she was able. Lyn loved her family. Her children and grandchildren were the center and joy of her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Lyn will be missed beyond measure by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her mother, Dorene Waggoner; two sons, Brent Hooker and wife, Donnice, and Barry Hooker and wife, Mandy; grandchildren, Tyler Hooker, Dillon Hooker, Molly Kate Hooker, Blake Hooker and Kaylyn Hooker; sisters, Grace Groesbeck and husband, Gary, and Kelly Moore and husband, Phil; nieces and nephews, Greg Groesbeck, Glen Groesbeck, Lauren Venable and Alyssa Escamilla; and other extended family. Lyn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ray Hooker, and her father, Reginald Waggoner.
Graveside funeral services were held Sunday, December 4, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. in De Leon Cemetery with Brother Daniel Harper officiating.
