Anna (Anita) Johnson, 78, passed away November 27, 2024, at her home in De Leon. Anita was born on July 18, 1946, in Lampasas, Texas to Demenchio Medina and Maria Garza Medina.

Anna moved to De Leon in 1992. When her eyesight was healthy, she loved camping, cooking, dancing, singing, gardening, and watching her novellas on television. When she could no longer see, she loved talking to her sisters on the phone and listening to television. She loved visits from her children and grandchildren. Anna loved her family dearly, and she was a true prayer warrior for her children, grandchildren, siblings, and extended family.

She is survived by her three children: daughter, Lisa Hight and husband, Eddie; son, Robert Johnson and wife, Laura, and son, Albert L. Johnson, Jr.; brothers, Joe Medina and wife, Virgina, Rudy Medina and wife, Lucy, Robert Medina and wife, Mickey, sisters, Junita Zarate and husband, Ernest; Lenora Gutierrez, Alice Reza, and Teresa Medina; sister-in-law, Henritta Medina; grandchildren, William Johnson, Crystal Johnson, Haley Johnson, Anthony Johnson, April Johnson, Adrian Johnson, and Anita Johnson; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Demenchio and Maria Medina; brother, Freddie Medina; sisters, Susan Medina and Mary Atchley; and brother-in-law, Rick Gutierrez.

Graveside funeral services were held Tuesday, December 3, 2024, in De Leon Cemetery with Brother Matt Morton officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Robert Johnson, Will Johnson, Albert Johnson, Jr., Anthony Johnson, Eddie Hight, and Brandon Kopp. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's (https://www.stjude.org/) in memory of Anna.
