Obituary

Archie Scott Frost, 80, of De Leon, went home to his Lord and Savior Sunday, February 28, 2016.

He was born July 11, 1935, in Sipe Springs, Texas, to Ray Mun Frost and Clydie Ora Brown Frost.

Archie lived in De Leon most all of his life other than several years when he lived in Alaska and when he proudly served in the United States Air Force. Following his service to our country, Archie was employed for many years as a truck driver for the firework industry.

He was a faithful long-time member of First Baptist Church of De Leon where he served as a church van driver and maintenance worker for many years. He loved First Baptist Church and especially interacting with the church youth programs and attending the Loyalty Sunday School Class. Archie was the "#1 De Leon Bearcat Fan" and loved attending all the De Leon sporting events he could. He enjoyed being outdoors and fishing and hunting. He also thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his coffee shop buddies at HWY 6 Café. For many years, Archie would host an annual firework show for his friends and family. He was a friendly and outgoing character who never met a stranger. He loved the De Leon community, his neighbors, his church, his family and most of all he loved his Lord. Archie was a loving friend and brother. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his brother, Tommy Frost and wife, Sherlean; sisters, Frances Leach, Ora Mae Campbell and husband, Jim, Bess Curb and husband, Dale, and Wanda Layman; numerous nieces and nephews; other extended family; and many loving friends. Archie has been reunited with his parents, Ray Mun and Clydie Frost; and baby brother, J.B. Frost.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 4, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, De Leon, with Brother Daniel Harper and Pastor Richard Watson officiating. Graveside services, with Military Honors, followed in Oliver Springs Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Ronnie Frost, Ottis Leach, Tommy Scott Curb, Dustin Frost, Chuck Linehan and Matt Magin. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Burnett, Dean Nowlin, Lee Gilder, Bill Dawkins, Autry Andress, Max Keith and Trent Thomas.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in memory of Archie.
