Arlene Mae Pies, 85, of De Leon, passed peacefully and met her Lord and Savior April 18, 2021, in Temple. She was born May 8, 1935, in Steamboat Rock, Iowa to George Harold Rosburg and Pauline Roll Rosburg. Arlene married Robert Pies June 16, 1953 at Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.

Arlene was raised in Iowa and she and Robert moved to De Leon in the late 1990's from Ackley, Iowa. She was a long-time member of De Leon First United Methodist Church. Arlene was active many years serving on the De Leon Hospital Auxiliary, a role she dearly loved. She was also a long time member of the Red Hat Society. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bridge and 42 with her wonderful friends. She was very talented at crafting and loved to crochet. Above all, Arlene love her Lord and her family. She was a devoted wife to Robert, an attentive mother to her children; a doting grandmother; and a loyal friend and caring neigbor. Arlene will be missed by many who loved her dearly.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Daniell and husband, Robert; grandchildren, Casey Daniell and Megan Daniell; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family. Arlene has been reunited with her parents, husband, and son, Darwin Pies.

Memorial services celebrating Arlene's wonderful life will be held Sunday, April 25, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home with Brother Kenneth Wilson and Rev. John Woodard officiating. Arlene will return home to Ackley, Iowa to be interred next to her husband, Robert Pies, in Oakwood Cemetery.
