Arlie Lorene Coan Ross, 91, of De Leon, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013.
She was born March 18, 1922, in Comanche County to Alva Guy Forrest and Isabell Woodfin Forrest.
Arlie attended church at Fair Haven Baptist Church in De Leon. She was a loving and devoted homemaker to her family. She loved to sew and paint. She was also an avid reader.
Arlie married Lyndell Coan in 1952 and together they raised two sons, Rodney Coan and Cliff Coan. Lyndell passed away in March 2000. In March 2003, Arlie married her high school sweetheart, Winston A. Ross, in De Leon.
She is survived by her husband, Winston A. Ross; son, Cliff Coan and wife, Tracy; daughter in law, Charlotte Coan; grandchildren, Jeremy Coan, Jessie Coan, Lana Barefoot and husband, Kerry, and Ricci Coan and wife, Sharon; great-grandchildren, Mitch Barefoot and wife, Whitney, Mackenzie Barefoot, Jordan Coan, Jody Coan and Andrew Coan; sisters, Gladys Pounds and Marie Nowlin and husband, Dean; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family.
Arlie was preceded by her first husband, Lyndell Coan; parents; son, Rodney Coan, and brothers, Charlie Forrest, Robert Forrest, Willie Forrest and Doyle Gene Forrest.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 4, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. at Fair Haven Baptist Church in De Leon. Graveside services followed in De Leon Cemetery. Brother Roger Pounds officiated the service with Brother Kenneth Wilson and Brother Jackie Auvenshine assisting.
