Arnold A. E. Roitsch of Comanche, Texas passed away July 8, 2016 at the age of 101.
He was born January 27, 1916 to Rev. Hugo F. W. Roitsch and Hulda (Swiedom) Roitsch in Fayette County, Texas. Arnold married Margaret J. Hoeke in December 1946, at Salem Lutheran Church in Austin, Texas. He was a current member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cisco, Texas and previously Elgin Lutheran Church in Elgin, Texas. Arnold worked for the State of Texas until retirement, at which point he focused his attention on farming and ranching.
Arnold is survived by his children, Arnold A. E. "Ernst" Roitsch II and Linda (Larkin) of Rising Star, Texas; Charles E. Roitsch of Desdemona, Texas, and Alfred W. Roitsch of Deleon, Texas; grandchildren, Charles Joseph "C.J." Roitsch, and Mary Louise (Roitsch) McNutt, great-grandchildren, William and James McNutt; grandchildren by adoption, Ronny and Chrystal McGinn; great-grandchildren, Lane, Payton, Pacey and Kaymorn; sisters in-law, Delma (Olle) Roitsch and Pauline Wallbreck; and other extended family.
Arnold was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; son, Martin Roitsch; brother, Leroy Clinton Roitsch; daughter in-law, Susan (Albertson) Roitsch; and his parents.
Graveside services were held at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home and Cemetery, 14501 Interstate 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660 with a reception following at Grace Lutheran Church, 801 W. 11th St., Elgin, TX 78621.
