Arvella Carlin Carlisle, 90, of De Leon, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013, in Eastland.

Born February 3, 1923 in De Leon, she was the daughter of William Hampter Rich and Mary Elizabeth Holland Rich.

Arvella was a homemaker and had lived in De Leon most of her life. She was a Christian and loved sewing, working in her flower garden, and visiting with friends. She loved her family and friends dearly.

She is survived by two sons, Mike Carlin and wife, Jo Ann, and Carroll Carlin; step-son, Brad Carlisle; step-daughter, Sherry Carlisle; granddaughter, Carolyn Grindle; three great-grandchildren, Valerie, Jess and Catherine; three great-great-grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arvella has gone home to join her husband, Alvin Carlin; husband, Edwin Carlisle; grandson, Michael Carlin, Jr.; step-son, Jerry Carlisle; two brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral services were held Friday, September 27, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home. Graveside services followed in De Leon Cemetery. Brother Jackie Auvenshine officiated the services. Music was provided by Vicki Robinett.

Jess Grindle, J. D. Warren, Jim Bob Wofford, Nathan Gee, Bobby Rich and Lannes Callison served as pallbearers.
