On January 14, 2022, Aubrey Dale Gilchrest passed away peacefully at home. He was born October 22, 1947 in Gorman, Texas to Aubrey T. Gilchrest and Charlene Gilchrest. He served in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1967-1969. He was awarded the distinguished honor of a Purple Heart for his selfless service to his country.

In September 1969 he married the love of is his life, Hue Thi Nguyen, they both came home to Beattie, Texas where they started a life together of farming and ranching. Later they went to work at Saint-Gobain in Stephenville, Texas where he retired after fourteen years.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Charlene Gilchrest; father, Aubrey T. Gilchrest; brother, Donnie Gilchrest; and sister, Sheilah Auvenshine.

He is survived by his wife, Hue Thi Gilchrest; sons, Terry T. Gilchrest and wife, Leigh Ann, and Wesley Gilchrest; brother, Marlin Gilchrest and wife, Connie; sister, Elizabeth Ann Gilchrest-Burns and husband, Rick Burns; and brother-in-law, Wayland Auvenshine; and three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services, with Army Military Honors, was held Friday, January 21, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in Stag Creek Cemetery with Minister Keith Dukes officiating. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dale to Beattie Community Center.
