He was a deacon, and a Sunday School and Recreation coach for youth groups for many years. He also coached both his girls' softball teams to several championships! He was a loyal Dallas Cowboy fan and as a boy, loved listening to the St Louis Cardinals on his transistor radio and remained a lifelong fan.
