Obituary

Bettie Sue Strube, 86, of De Leon, passed from this life May 31, 2022, with her loving family by her side. She was born February 15, 1936, in Comanche County to Thomas K. Moore and Mable Rodgers Moore. Bettie Sue married Carl Dean Strube July 3, 1954. They enjoyed a loving marriage of sixty-seven years.

Bettie Sue graduated from De Leon High School Class of 1954. She and Carl married shortly after, and they lived in Ft. Worth for nearly sixty years. Betty was a devoted and loving homemaker for her family. She also worked for the family dry cleaning business for many years. When Carl retired in 1984, they bought a home in De Leon and split their time living in both Ft. Worth and De Leon. In 2014, Carl and Bettie Sue finally settled home here in De Leon.  Bettie Sue is a longtime member of De Leon First Baptist Church. She loved her church and her church family dearly. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and listening to music. She was a special grandmother and cherished time spent with her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Carl Strube; sons, Durwin Strube and wife, Kimberly, and Dean Strube and wife, Angie; six grandchildren, Jerry Kirchman, Nikki Strube and wife, Meagan, Caity Lowry and husband, Michael, Lee Strube and wife, Juanita, Justin Strube and wife, Amber, and Brianna Hollon and husband, Jim; fifteen great-grandchildren; sister, Clara Ann Sanders; sister-in-law, Earlene Moore; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family. Bettie Sue has been reunited with her parents; brothers, Thomas Moore and wife, Clara Faye, Gene Moore and wife, Barbara, and Gary Don Moore; and brother-in-law, Wayne Sanders.

The Strube family will receive friends for visitation Friday, June 3, 2022, from 6-8:00 p.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home.

Funeral services celebrating Bettie Sue's life will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at De Leon First Baptist Church with Brother Kenneth Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in De Leon Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Lee Strube, Justin Strube, Jim Hollon, Jerry Kirchman, Jaxon Palmer, and Bryan Voss. Honorary pallbearers are Wyatt Butler and Koregan Strube. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to De Leon First Baptist Church Youth Ministry.
