Betty Jean Campbell, 87, of Corpus Christi, formerly of De Leon, passed away September 11, 2017. She was born February 27, 1930, in De Leon to Blake Heath and Opal May George Heath. Betty married George Campbell November 14, 1948, in De Leon.
Betty graduated from De Leon High School and moved to California in 1949 as George entered the United States Marines. They were long-time members of the Methodist Church. Over the years, they lived in Andrews, Texas and Ft. Worth, Texas. Betty enjoyed reading and working word puzzles. She also loved listening to music. She was a loving wife, daughter, mother, and friend. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Tony Campbell and wife, Cheryl; daughter, Terri Stone and husband, Henry; grandchildren, Jeremy Peebles, Christopher Peebles, Steven Stone, Erica Galindo, Toni Brorman, Dustin Campbell, Carly Campbell and Blake Stone; and six great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, George Campbell; and parents, Blake and Opal Heath.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 15, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, De Leon, with Rev. Max Brennan officiating. Graveside services followed in De Leon Cemetery.
