Betty Jean McGee, 76, of De Leon, passed from this life December 25, 2021.  She was born January 24, 1945 in Wheeler, TX to William (Bill) and Helen Chandler.  She was raised in and graduated from Shamrock High School.

Betty loved all animals, but horses and dogs were at the top of her list ever since she was a little girl.  Betty loved attending the Fort Worth Stock Show every year, as well as the NCHA shows and Paint Horse shows at Will Rogers in Fort Worth.  As she was able, Betty enjoyed attending Northside Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa McGee Green; her son, Larry Maxwell "Mack" McGee Jr.; grandchildren, Courtney McGee and Dustin McGee; and a great granddaughter, Dustin's daughter, Sage McGee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Helen Chandler; longtime companion, Jim Willey; and her beloved Schnauzer, Sophie.

A memorial service celebrating Betty's life was held Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home in De Leon, Texas with Brother Denver Rainey officiating.
