Obituary

Bettye Jean Forrest Logan was born in Comanche County on May 26, 1936, to Thomas Hutchens Forrest and Eunice Vera Woodfin Forrest. She passed peacefully from this life July 16, 2024, in Eastland County at the age of 88 years.

Bettye married Harlis Weldon Logan on March 21, 1953, in Gorman, Texas, and they enjoyed a loving marriage of seventy-one years. To this union three boys were born, Jeffrey Lynn, Mitchell Thomas, and Stephen Wayne.

Bettye was active in Cub Scouts and Little League. She retired as a Registered Nurse and always felt blessed to be in the nursing field. Bettye was a member of Desdemona Church of Christ, and she loved her church family dearly.

She is survived by her husband, Harlis; son, Mitch Logan (Leann); granddaughters, Jesica Miller (James) and Kori Grooms (Jonathon); grandson, Tom Logan; great-grandsons, Brett and Hunter; sisters, Brenda Sears and Wanda Crenshaw; special nieces and nephews whom she called her adopted kids.

Bettye was preceded in death by her sons, Jeff Logan and Steve Logan; grandson, Sam; parents, Thomas and Eunice Forrest; sisters, Thelma Brown, Avis Painter, Zelma Sharp, Tommie Guthery, and Lavelle Hallmark.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 19, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home with Minister Ken Frazier officiating. Bettye was interred in Victor Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Roger Brown, Jerry Brown, Daniel Dunston, Larry Grady, Grant Lewis, and Julian Monaco.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Desdemona Activity Center (P.O. Box 2, Desdemona, Texas 76445). Bettye spent many hours volunteering at the DAC and was always proud to contribute her time and energy to the Activity Center.
