Beverly Wood was born in Gorman, Texas and spent her early childhood years in Downing, Texas. She spent her pre-teen years in El Paso, Texas. She graduated from Stephenville High School.

In 1956, she married the love of her life, Bill Wood, and remained happily married for 68 years. She spent 43 years working as the beloved administrative assistant to the El Paso District Superintendent of the United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Helen Sturdivant. She is survived by her husband, William H. "Bill" Wood; children, Michael, Craig, Gary, and Kama; and eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in El Paso on October 10, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.
