Obituary

Billie Ann Lightfoot, 83, of De Leon, went home to her Lord and Savior Saturday, September 22, 2018, with her loving family by her side. She was born July 22, 1935, in Borden County, Texas to Harmon S. Weston and Vera Brown Weston. Billie married Freddie Mack Lightfoot May 24, 1963, in Comanche County.

Billie moved to De Leon from Prague, Oklahoma in 1961. Billie was a long-time member of De Leon First United Methodist Church. Billie loved her church and her church family very much. She was a talented hair stylist and barber and owned and operated The Artistic Salon in Gorman and The Hair Affair in Round Rock for many years. She was a dedicated resident of the De Leon community serving in various capacities in many community organizations including the De Leon Beautification Committee, De Leon Womens Division Chamber of Commerce, and De Leon Cemetery Association, to name a few. She also served on various boards in the Rock Rock community while living there. Billie was always giving of her time and would help anyone in need. She was a wonderful cook and would share many of her treasured goodies with friends throughout the community. Billie loved making her well known salsa and would give out jars of it, but she was always careful to safe guard the recipe. Her red beans and cornbread were often gifted to family, friends and neighbors as well. Billie also enjoyed sewing and donated many of her handmade items for charity fundraisers over the years. She was always so loving but equally as ornery. You were sure to have a great laugh while spending time with Billie and she was sure to leave you with a great big smile. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and neighbor. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Jake Brooks and wife, Diane; daughters, Robin Asa and husband, Bill, and Lynn Newton; daughter by heart, Jannette Rebeiro and husband, Tony; sons by heart, Robert Oliver, Patrick Preston and Albert Melton; grandchildren, Amy Claus and husband, Chris, Will Asa and wife, Lisa, Emily Asa, Evan Newton and wife, Alisha, Lee Jaye Newton, Jason Hicks and wife, Jennifer, Ashley Brooks, Jenna Brooks, Marc Rebeiro and Stephen Rebeiro; great-grandchildren, Ava Claus, Kort Claus, Connor Claus, Macy Newton, Andrew Newton, Owen Newton and Abby Hicks; sister-in-law, Delphene Weston; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and other extended family.

Billie was preceded by her husband, Freddie Lightfoot; parents, Harmon and Vera Weston; brothers, Mack Weston and Jack Weston; sister, Dorothy McCrum; infant daughter, LuGlenna Brooks; grandson, Bryan Newton; and son-in-law, Paul Newton.
