Billye Earlene
Kimmell Moore
Jan 7, 1934 — Jun 14, 2025
Billye Earlene Christian Kimmell Moore entered her heavenly home on June 14, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love. Two children, 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Earlene was born on January 7, 1934, along with her twin sister, Merlene, to Zeph and Nellie Christian in Gorman, Texas. They were the first twins born in Blackwell Hospital in Gorman, Texas. She was raised at School Hill and attended school in Lingleville.
On December 30, 1950, she and Ardean Kimmell entered into a marriage that lasted 49 years. Together they made a life in De Leon, farming, ranching, and a successful business. They had two children, Lanell and Larry, which provided them with many loving memories, and gray hair.
Earlene found love again in 2002, when she and Thomas Moore were married. They enjoyed 18 years together.
Earlene loved her family with all her heart, but sports came in a close second. She loved the Texas Rangers, even went to Florida just for the Rangers spring training camp, and she never wanted to miss The Dallas Mavericks.
Who would have thought a little girl from School Hill would travel the world. In 1974, Earlene and Ardean were honored to join the "People to People" tour that traveled to many countries.
One of them being Russia, they were in the second group that was allowed into Russia after travel sanctions were lifted. This was only one of many trips that Earlene enjoyed with Ardean and Thomas.
Earlene loved family and enjoyed watching them grow. She spent many hours on hard benches and lawn chairs watching her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren at sporting events, plays, horse shows, school projects, and anything else that they participated in. Always giving encouragement, love, praise, and sometimes, the occasional slap on the head for something dumb. But, we always knew that we were loved.
Earlene was a faithful Christian and loved her church family.
Earlene is survived by her children, Lanell Kimmell Upshaw and husband, Sam, Larry Kimmell and wife, Mary; stepchildren, Dr. Eddie Moore and wife, Jeanette, Randy Moore and wife, Tina, and Polly Voss and husband, Gerald; grandchildren, Jason and Brittney Upshaw, Jana and Mike Wright, Kody and Misty Kimmell, and Kobe and Lindsey Kimmell; great grandchildren, Gracie, Kody Christian, Braxton, Kordyn, Kylie, Kolton, Calli, Cade, Reese, Dustin and Leslie; great-great grandchildren, Sophia, Xavier, Jackson, and Jace. Also, many nieces and nephews.
Earlene was preceded in death by her husband Ardean in 1999 and husband Thomas in 2020.
Funerals services celebrating Earlene's life were held June 18, 2025, at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Van Christian officiating. Graveside committal followed in Victor Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Kody Kimmell, Kobe Kimmell, Jason Upshaw, Mike Wright, Dustin Wright and Gary Sparks.
We would like to express our gratitude to hospice and the fine caregivers at Laural Glenn Assisted Living for their support, kindness and loving care.
If desired memorial contributions may be made to: West Texas Rehab Center (4601 Hartford St, Abilene, TX 79605) or Ben Richey Boys Ranch (501 Ben Richey Dr, Abilene, TX 79602), in memory of Earlene.
