Obituary

Bonnie Easter (Moore) Singleton, 98, of Duncanville, Texas passed from this life Friday, September 22, 2023. She was born Easter Sunday April 12, 1925, in De Leon, Texas to Otho Harris "O.H." Moore and Vida Fostina Hill Moore. Bonnie married Dale Singleton June 2, 1942.

Bonnie was raised in De Leon and graduated from De Leon High School in 1942. She and Dale lived in various places throughout his career and eventually they retired back home to De Leon in the early 1980's. Bonnie remained in De Leon until she moved to live with her daughter in Duncanville in 2011. She was a long-time member of De Leon First Baptist Church. She was a member of Crescent Park Baptist Church and served there many years as a member and as church secretary. Bonnie was very active in the Women's Missionary Union (WMU).  She loved to play the piano and organ and enjoyed collecting stamps and coins. Bonnie was a genealogist and documented her family history. She built an extensive collection of family photographs dating back to the Civil War era, as well as documentation of family dating back to 1700s. She also enjoyed taking care of and maintaining her yard.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Gary and wife Cynthia and DeAnna (Singleton) and husband Greg Knauer; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Singleton; grandchildren, Theresa Davis, Melody Riney, Nicole Knauer, Kimberly Knauer, and Dale Singleton II; and great-grandchildren, Matthew and Rex Davis, Michael Riney, and Aiden and Hadley Singleton.

She has been reunited with her husband, Dale Singleton Sr.; son, Larry Singleton; parents, O.H. and Vida Moore; siblings, Herschel Moore, Bartene Barnes, Maurine Wychopen, and J. Doss Moore.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home with Brother Tim Dehne officiating. Bonnie was laid to rest beside her husband in De Leon Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to De Leon First Baptist Church in memory of Bonnie.
