Carl D. Brasuell, 81, of De Leon, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018. He was born September 30, 1936, in De Leon, Texas to J.F. (Jude) Brusuell and Dayle Warren Brasuell.
Carl proudly served in the United States Army from 1955 until 1958 and then returned to his lifelong hometown of De Leon. During both his military service and in his civilian life, Carl worked within the oil industry. He enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, baking and watching television. He loved his family and was a caring and loving father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his daughters, Kim Gonzales and Carla Cline; sons, Eddie Hale, Ronnie Hale and Wade Wilson; grandchildren, Manual Gonzales, Maranda Gonzales, Meagan Gonzales, Cody Horton, Michael Cline and Dustin Cline; great-grandchildren, Bryson Hamrick, Jayden Gonzales, Paisley Gonzales, Lauren Cogburn, Jordan Cogburn and Marion Gonzales; sisters, Mary Lou Rhyne and Judy LaDell Adams; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family. Carl was preceded in death by his son, Norman Hale; parents, J.F. and Dayle Brasuell; brothers, Jack Brasuell and Sonny Brasuell; and niece, Rhonda Murphy.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 8, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home with Brother Ray Seckinger officiating. Military graveside services followed in De Leon Cemetery.
