Carl Dean Strube, 94, passed peacefully from this life April 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 28, 1931, in De Leon, Texas to Junior Dean Strube and Mildred Icelia Waltrip Strube. He married Bettie Sue Moore on July 3, 1954, and they enjoyed a loving marriage of sixty-seven years.
Carl Dean was raised in the Comyn area and graduated from Comyn High School in 1949. He retired from the United States Air Force after thirty-seven years as an equipment mechanic. He served in the Air National Guard for thirty-seven years. He was always a hard worker, even up until his age began to slow him down. He loved to spend time outdoors. Carl Dean thoroughly enjoyed music, especially blue grass. His family was his greatest joy in life. The little ones brought him immense joy. Carl Dean was a long time member of De Leon First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He loved his church family dearly.
He leaves behind a loving legacy in his large family: sons, Carl Durwin Strube and wife, Kim, and Dean Strube and wife, Angie; grandchildren, Jerry Mac Kirchman, Taylor Nicole Strube, Caitlyn Marie Lowry, Lee Strube, Justin Strube, and Brianna Hollon; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Jerry Don Strube and wife, Donie; sisters-in-law, Maxine Strube, Pat Strube, and Clara Ann Sanders; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Carl Dean was preceded in death by his loving wife, Bettie Sue; parents; two brothers; three sisters-in-law; and four brothers-in-law.
Funeral services celebrating Carl Dean's life were held Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at De Leon First Baptist Church with Deacan Tim Beaty officiating. Graveside committal followed in De Leon Cemetery.
