Carolene Maxine Price, 80, peacefully passed away September 15, 2020, at De Leon Nursing and Rehab. She was born October 4, 1939, in Crosby County, Texas to Kirk Slater, Sr. and Vivian Marie Blessing Slater. Carolene married her loving husband of sixty-three years, Charley Price, June 20, 1958, in Ralls, Texas.
Carolene was a devoted and loving homemaker for her family. She and Charley moved to De Leon in 1967 from Ralls, Texas and raised their family here. She was a longtime member of De Leon First Baptist Church and she loved her church family dearly. Carolene enjoyed many hobbies including playing card games and Yahtzee and spending the holidays with her family. She was the biggest fan of her grandchildren and they were the greatest joy in her life. Carolene always enjoyed life. She had a witty sense of humor and an unforgettable way of showing others they were important to her. She was always kind, considerate, nurturing, patient, and forgiving. She will always be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, wonderful and selfless mother, doting grandmother, and true friend.
She is survived by her husband, Charley Price; children, Dale Price and wife, Kathy, Randy Price, and Michelle Simpson and husband, Larry, Jr.; grandchildren, Travis Price, Tanner Price, Kaylee Price, Ashley Simpson, Connor Simpson, Kyli Simpson and Kambri Simpson; great-grandchild, Kody Price; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended friends. Carolene has been reunited with her parents, Kirk and Vivian Slater; and brother, Kirk Slater, Jr.
Graveside funeral services were held Thursday, September 17 th , at 2:00 p.m. in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Comanche, with Brother Daniel Harper officiating.
If desired memorial contribution may be made to Gladney's Center for Adoption at 6300 John Ryan Drive, Ft. Worth, Texas 76132, De Leon First Baptist Church, or to a charity of your choice, in memory of Carolene.
