Susie Auvenshine, 69, of De Leon, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2010 at Comanche County Medical Center. She was born July 24, 1941 in Gorman, Texas to Alfin Newman (Jack) and Merle C. (Cliftine) Goodson Brumbelow.
Funeral service was held on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at 2:00 pm at St. Joe Baptist Church. Burial followed at Victor Cemetery. Her family received friends from 6-8pm on Saturday. Donnie Auvenshine officiated the service. Music was provided by Marvin McKeehan, Beth Riggs, LaRessie Wilkerson, Ruby Solomon and Vicki Robinett.
Pallbearers were Dustin Keith, Cody Smith, Stephen Reich, Jim Woods, Chas Bayer, Neil Pounds and Ty Smith.
Honorary Pallbearers were Jerry Solomon, Don Brown, Jimmy Mahan, Steven Riggs, Ennis Joiner, Gerald Fronk, Ted Nowlin and Gaylon Fleming.
Susie loved to cook, sew and shop. She was the Secretary at Express Medical Supply for 15 years and worked for F&M Bank for 20 years. She was an active member of St. Joe Baptist Church where she was a member of the Adult 3 Sunday School Class. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and precious grandmother. She also loved to take her grandchildren shopping. Family was a very important part of her life.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jackie Auvenshine of De Leon; son Eddie Auvenshine and wife Nita of De Leon; daughter Melissa Smith and husband Steve of Breckenridge; two brothers, Richard Brumbelow and Don Brumbelow; sister, Anna Beth Keith; 4 grandchildren, Cody Smith, Emily Auvenshine, Ashley Auvenshine and Ty Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Cliftine Brumbeow, sister, Mackie Leavell and nephew Ken Keith.
Memorials may be made to St. Joe Baptist Church Building Fund or West Texas Rehab.
