Carolyn Sue Swinney, 77, of De Leon, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016.

She was born August 21, 1938, in Comanche County, Texas, to Robert Thurman Swinney and Florence Opal Swinney.

Carolyn was a lifelong resident of De Leon and a long-time member of St. Joe Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, crocheting and sewing. She loved her family and dogs dearly.

She is survived by her sisters, Frances Keith and husband, Don Ray, and Martha Guthery; brother, Roy Dale Swinney; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family. Carolyn was preceded by her parents; and brother, Donald Swinney.

Graveside funeral services were held Friday, January 29, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. in De Leon Cemetery with Brother Jackie Auvenshine officiating.
