On to Plan B. Charles Randolph DeAx II passed away Monday morning July 27, 2026, at the age of 82 years old. Randy, as he was affectionately known, was a firm believer that plan A's rarely worked out, but there were 25 other letters in the alphabet. Plan A had been for him to live forever causing shenanigans wherever he went. Plan B was for him to peacefully join his beautiful bride surrounded by family. Randy was born October 10th, 1943, in Fort Stockton, TX, to Josephine Dunn Keith and Charles Randolph DeAx. He was the second eldest of three siblings, Ginger DeAx Gerbert, Mike DeAx, and Danny Keith.

He grew up in Fort Stockton and later joined the Navy where he served in the Vietnam War. He was recognized for his work ethic and teaching abilities and earned the National Defense Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal as a Petty Officer Second Class.

He married the love of his life, Linda Bush, on February 28, 1969. Randy was father to five children, Theresa Bright (Tom McIntyre), Mary Jo Martin, LeeAnn Chavarria, Charles Daniel DeAx (Shelley Wells DeAx), and Amanda DeAx Scott (Chad Scott). He was blessed with eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

He was a lover of dogs, children, old time rock'n'roll, and junking. He was not ever known to pass up a garage sale, and the flea market was his happy place. He always rooted for the underdog.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Josephine and Charles, a stepfather, Dan Keith, his siblings, one grandson, and his wife, Linda Bush DeAx. He leaves behind his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of lessons and laughter passed down to those he knew. Welcome home, sir.

In respect of Randy's wishes, no formal funeral services are scheduled. He will be laid to rest beside his wife in Sand Hill Cemetery.
