Charles Dillard Lee, 77, of Midland, Texas, passed away on February 1, 2023, in Abilene. He was born on June 26, 1945, in Dublin, Texas, to Dillard Lee and Ava "Alene" Carlton Lee.

Charles was raised on Cow Creek between De Leon and Dublin. He graduated from Dublin High School in the class of 1963. Charles originally worked as a peanut farmer in De Leon. Though he always remained a farmer at heart, in the 1980s he moved to the Midland/Odessa area and began a second career in the oil field. He later moved to North Carolina with his wife Patti and purchased a home there, which remained a special place to him throughout his life. Charles eventually returned to his home in Midland where he continued his career in the oil field until his retirement.

Charles loved to be outdoors working. He especially loved tractors and fast cars. Charles enjoyed the simple things in life. He was kindhearted, humble, and extremely generous. Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Charles is preceded in death by his wife Patti A. Lee, his parents Dillard and Alene Lee, his sister, Jennadine "Jan" Jones, and his son-in-law, Jimmie Moore.

He is survived by his son, Cary Dillard Lee; daughters, Charla Denice Moore and Christy McWilliam and husband, Frederick; grandchildren, Zoe Moore, Patrick Hayden Lee, and Tanner Dillard Lee; nephews, Nicky Jones and Lance Jones; nieces, Teresa Wall and Becky Reeder; and other extended family and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, February 10, 2023, at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Paul Winegeart officiating. Interment followed in De Leon Cemetery.
