Charles B. Nabors was born to Nathan Lee Nabors and Maudie Ann Pittman Nabors on November 18, 1927, in De Leon. He moved to his heavenly home on May 2, 2022, after having received Jesus as his Lord and Savior at the age of 8. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and in many other capacities. Throughout his life, he exemplified the love of Jesus by accepting others, helping, sharing, and generosity.

He was a lifelong resident of De Leon, graduating from De Leon High School in 1944. After graduation, he served in the United States Army. When he returned to De Leon, he married Julia Louise Wofford on April 24, 1949. Two daughters and a son were born of this union. He loved his family very much. He worked for Texas Electric Service Company as a lineman from 1952 until his retirement in 1983. He enjoyed his farm, raising peanuts, a large garden, cattle, hogs, horses, chickens, and of course, enjoyed his "coon hounds".

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Louise, his parents, and his brothers Derwin and Harold. He is survived by daughters Wanda Sue Mason and husband Fred, Janis Pettway, and son John Nabors and wife Ingrid. Eight grandchildren are left with wonderful memories: Jeremy, Jonathan, and Joshua Dickey; Angela Bishop; Melissa Murray; Christopher Nabors; Elizabeth Taylor and Margaret Nabors. In addition, he leaves fourteen beloved great grandchildren. Also surviving Charles is his special friend and companion of 18 years, Bobbie Jean Dennington.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 6, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at De Leon First Baptist Church with Pastor Austin Griffin and Pat Cummings officiating. Charles was laid to rest in De Leon Cemetery.
