Charles T. "C.T." Lawless, 85, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2019, in Stephenville. He was born December 12, 1934, in De Leon, Texas to Charles V. "C.V." Lawless and Opal M. Eitle Lawless.

C.T. was raised in De Leon until he reached middle school and his family moved to Odessa. While he lived in De Leon as a young boy, C.T. was a member of De Leon First Baptist Church and was always active in the youth Royal Ambassadors (RA's). He graduated from Odessa High School and then attended Odessa College until he was drafted into the United States Army in 1955. He was an Army Specialist with select clearance for top security processes. After his service to the country, C.T. attended Sul Ross University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration and also played golf for the university. He was employed as a staff accountant with the City of Odessa for many years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and gardening. He loved spending time with his family, many dear friends, and his beloved dog, Buster. C.T. was a loving and kind man and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Surviving C.T. are his cousins, Paul Lawless of De Leon and Bob Howell of Comanche; brother-in-law, Juan Abeyta; nephew, Mark Abeyta; niece, Kathy Fundus; and other extended family. C.T. was preceded in death by his parents, Charles "C.V." and Opal Lawless; sister, Ann Abeyta; grandparents, Robert and Ora Eitel and Al and Ellen Lawless; and nephew, Mike Abeyta.

Graveside funeral services celebrating C.T.'s were held Tuesday, December 24, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. in De Leon Cemetery with Brother Daniel Harper officiating. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Comanche All Pets Alive (CAPA) or to an animal foundation of your choice, in memory of C.T.
