Carruth
Sep 11, 1931 — Jun 27, 2025
Charlie Glenn Carruth, 93, peacefully passed from this life June 27, 2025. He was born September 11, 1931, in De Leon, Texas to Stanley Carruth and Gladys Hattox Carruth. He married his loving wife of 74 years, Freda Nell Wallace Carruth, on December 31, 1950.
Charlie was raised in De Leon and graduated from De Leon High School in 1949. He lived his entire life in Comanche County other than eight years he and Freda lived in California. Charlie was a self-employed farmer most all his life. He truly loved to work and spent most of his time outdoors. He enjoyed playing 42 with many of his friends and spent a lot of his time reading and studying the Bible. Charlie's greatest joy in life was his family. He loved to support his grandchildren in all their activities, be it stock shows or their farming endeavors. He was always their number one fan. Charlie was a devoted husband to Freda, a loving father and grandfather, a loyal and helpful neighbor, and a cherished friend to many. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Freda; son, Don Carruth and wife, Cecelia; grandchildren, Josh Carruth and wife, Amarillis, and D'Liza Stockman and husband, Matt; great-grandchildren, Mila Carruth, Cavin Stockman and wife, Torey, and Noah Stockman; one great-great grandson, Bryer Stockman; and numerous extended family. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Gladys Carruth; and sons, David Carruth and Danny Carruth.
Graveside funeral services celebrating Charlie's life were held Monday, June 30, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. in De Leon Cemetery with Noah Stockman and Minister Barrett Payne officiating. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Lingleville Baptist Church Build 41 Project, in memory of Charlie.
