Obituary

Charlsie Marie Gressett Fisher, 93, of Dallas, Texas, peacefully passed away March 25, 2021. She was born September 16, 1927, in Comanche County, Texas to Earl Walter and Miriam Anne Gressett. She grew up tin the Comanche area and graduated from Sydney High School.  On August 11, 1946 she married C.J. Fisher, the love of her life. They were married for 73 years until his passing in April of 2020.

Charlsie was a homemaker for most of her life and volunteered with her son's schools and their local Baptist Churches. With her big outgoing personality, she was in charge of making new friends as she moved frequently following her husband's career. She was an excellent cook who loved making big family dinners where there were always at least two of her homemade desserts (her son will especially miss her peach cobbler). According to her Grandsons "Memaw made the best chocolate cake ever". She was as quick to laugh and joke as she was to tell you exactly where you stood with her. There was no guessing what was on her mind. She loved being a wife, mother, sister and grandmother and a devout follower of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Charlsie was a member of First Baptist Carrollton in Carrollton, Texas.

She is survived by her son, Brad Fisher and wife, Nancy; grandchildren, Jake and Garrett Fisher; sister, Barbara Tacker, whom she and CJ were blessed to raise as their own from the age of seven; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Charlsie was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, C.J. Fisher; her parents; brothers, Earl Vaden Gressett and Burley Gayle Gressett; and her sister, Neta Jean Boyd.

A celebration of Charlsie and CJ's life was held at the De Leon Cemetery in De Leon, Texas on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Matt Morton officiating. Honorary pallbearers were grandsons, Jake Fisher and Garrett Fisher of Dallas, Texas, nephew, Troy Tacker of Vernon, Texas, and nephew, Jerry Brown of Amarillo, Texas.
