Cynthia Pauline
Rush
Apr 10, 1931 — Dec 12, 2020
Pauline Rush, 89, of De Leon, passed peacefully and met her Lord and Savior face to face December 12, 2020. She was born April 10, 1931, in Smithfield, Texas to Richard and Clarice Locke Covington. Pauline married her loving husband, Loyd Raymon Rush, May 15, 1946, in Gustine.
Pauline was a loving and devoted homemaker for her family. Outside the home, she was employed and retired from Norton as press operator. Pauline was a talented seamstress and loved to sew and quilt. She thoroughly enjoyed yardwork and spending time outdoors. She loved to travel and visit new places. Pauline had lived in the Comanche County area most all her life and she attended Fair Haven Baptist Church in her later years. She was a devoted wife, selfless mother, doting grandmother and great-grandmother, and a loyal friend. Pauline will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Loyd Rush (Pam); daughter, Shirley Rorie (Joe); grandchildren, Thomas and Anne Marie Crenshaw, Jeff and Michelle Rorie, Melanie and Alfred Taylor, Chad Rush, Jennifer and Travis Williams, Steve Rorie, Alex Rorie, and Christopher Rorie; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Raymon Rush; daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Ed Crenshaw; parents, Richard and Clarice Covington; brothers, Cecil, Fred, Buck, Claude, Ray, and George; and sister, Wilma.
Graveside funeral services were held Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. in De Leon Cemetery with Pastor John Woodard officiating.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association at 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601, in honor of Pauline.
*Due to the current Comanche County COVID-19 regulations on group gatherings, we kindly ask that any friends planning to attend Pauline's graveside service respectfully stand at least 20 feet from the tent. The tent seating will be reserved for immediate family only. We are saddened that we cannot currently allow friends to pay their respects to the Rush family with a traditional visitation and ceremony. The family appreciates your understanding of the graveside safety regulations and is thankful for your continued prayers and kind thoughts during this difficult time. Masks are required in large gatherings.
