Obituary

Daniel Martinez Cisneroz, Sr., 80, of De Leon, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015, with his family by his side.

He was born July 13, 1934, in San Saba, Texas, to Epifanio and Josephina Martinez Cisneroz. Daniel married Geneive Noriega Cisneroz November 24, 1956 in San Saba.

Daniel was of the Catholic faith. He and Geneive moved to De Leon in 1972 to raise their family. Daniel harvested pecans and raised cattle. He enjoyed his work and the time it allowed him to be outdoors. He loved to fish, play the accordion and listen to music. His family was his pride and joy and he loved each of them dearly. Daniel was a devoted husband, father, brother, neighbor and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his sons, Greg Cisneroz and wife, Jennifer, and David Cisneroz and wife, Maria; daughters, Rosa Stewart and husband, Monty, and Sylvia Cronkhite and husband, James; grandchildren, Dayna Masters and husband, Kyle, Chasity Lopez and Chad Alleva, Rachel Brackett and husband, Matt, Joseph Cisneroz and wife, Amy, Timothy Lopez and Morgan Steagall, Aisha Merritt, Micah Cisneroz, Sydnee Merritt, Addison Cisneroz, Brianna Cisneroz and L.C. Cisneroz; great-grandchildren, Sage Stewart, Kalder Halbrook, Brett Alleva, Piper Alleva, Bentley Masters and Tyce Brackett; brother, Lupe Cisneroz; brother-in-law, Willie Balencia, Sr.; sister-in-law, Ramona Cisneroz; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.

He has been reunited for eternity with his wife of 59 years, Geneive Noriega Cisneroz; sons, Peter Cisneroz, Joseph Cisneroz and Daniel Cisneroz, Jr.; parents, Epifanio and Josephina Cisneroz; brothers, Gregory, Jose, Balentine and Thomas; and sisters, Anna, Elisa and Pauline.

Catholic Funeral Mass was held Sunday, April 26, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Deacon Bill Bolf and Rev. Judy Richmond officiating. Graveside services followed in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Comanche County.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Foundation, or the American Heart Association, in memory of Daniel.
