Dava Ruth Dickey Boswell, 87, of De Leon, went home to her Lord and Savior September 20, 2017. She was born August 10, 1930, in Comyn, Texas to Loyd and Mattie Lee Dickey. Dava married Arnold B. Boswell in 1947 and was happily married to him for twenty-seven years until his passing.
Dava was a member of First Baptist Church, De Leon. She was employed with Walmart as a customer service manager for many years. Dava loved dancing and listening to old country music and fiddles. Dava was a wonderful cook and she made the best chocolate pie in the world. She was a very strong willed and determined women who always persevered. She loved her family and was a loving wife, mother, sister, friend and neighbor. She will be missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Boswell; son, David Wayne Boswell; eight grandchildren, Judy Hunt, Jerri Belkin and husband, Ben, Dava Nash, Aaron Hammack and wife, Ashley, Zach Boswell, Kenley Boswell, Chance Boswell and Brooklynne Boswell; seven great-grandchildren, Chandler Hunt, Taylor German and husband, Garrett, Alexis Belkin, Rex Belkin, Ever Nash, Londyn Hammack and Lane Hammack; one great-great grandchild, Weslynn German; sisters, Barbara Nowlin and husband, Donald, and Ruby Lesley and husband, Curtis; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Dava was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold B. Boswell; daughter, Debra Boswell Hammack; parents, Loyd and Mattie Lee Dickey.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 23, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home with Brother Daniel Harper officiating. Graveside services followed in De Leon Cemetery.
