Dessie Mae Watts, 88, of Ft. Worth, passed away July 21, 2019. She was born February 17, 1931, in Lamesa, Texas to Arbeth Raby Dossey and Retta Estelle Gordon Dossey. Dessie married Floyd D. Watts August 2, 1968.
Dessie was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church. She was very active in the De Leon FUMC when she was able. She was a long-time beautician and enjoyed the friendships her profession allowed her to make over the years. Dessie loved many hobbies including bowling, gardening, crocheting, playing board and card games, working jigsaw puzzles, going for long country rides and spending time outdoors. Dessie loved spending with her family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sons, Danny Ray Burnett, Jacky Joe Burnett and wife, Paula, and Terry Lee Burnett; daughter, Billie Bob Burnett Bovenzi and husband, Donald; grandchildren, Brad Alan Bovenzi, Nicholas James Bovenzi, Laura Beth Garza and husband, Gerald, Kristin Lynn Summerlin and husband, Jeff, Kimberly Gail Clay and husband, Micah, Stephanie Kelso Anderson and husband, Victor Jr., Samuel Arbeth Burnett and Shelly Mae Burnett; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family. Dessie was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd D. Watts; parents; and brothers, Darrell Edward Dossey and Billy Wayne Dossey.
Graveside funeral services were held Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at 10 a.m. in Desdemona Cemetery with Pastor John Woodard officiating.
