Obituary

Franklin DeWitt Robinett, 71, of De Leon, passed away Monday, August 17, 2015, with his family by his side.

He was born July 11, 1944, in Gorman, Texas, to Willard and Elsie Skaggs Robinett. DeWitt married Vicki Keith May 30, 1969, in the Rock Bluff Baptist Church.

DeWitt was raised in De Leon and he and Vicki moved back to De Leon in 1986 to raise their family. He was self-employed for twenty-nine years as a heating and air-conditioning serviceman. He was very proud to be able to serve his community through his work. His size could make him look intimidating, but those who knew him understood how kind he was. He was always more of a listener than a talker and loved spending time with his family and many friends. DeWitt especially enjoyed spending his mornings at HWY 6 Café with his coffee buddies. He enjoyed working around his place and doing yard work. He would never complain and was always thankful for all he had. He proudly served in the United States Army in the late 1960's. He was loved by all who knew him and will be missed immeasurably.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Vicki Keith Robinett; daughters, Nikki Febinger and Keitha Robinett; son, Derek Robinett; grandchildren, Christopher, Allison, Erin, Lexie, Emily and Ryan; brothers, Sam Robinett and Jackie Robinett; and sister, Carolyn King; numerous nieces and nephews; other extended family; and many friends. DeWitt was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Elsie Skaggs Robinett; and sister, Marilyn Warren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, August 20, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of De Leon with Pastor Richard Watson officiating. Graveside services followed in Victor Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Jerry Wayne King, Paul King, Jade Warren, Justin Warren, Timothy Robinett and Alan Robinett. Honorary pallbearers were DeWitt's coffee shop friends and the Third Wednesday Quilters.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to Comanche County Community Hospice, in memory of DeWitt.
