Donna Kay Kubiak passed October 12, 2024, peacefully at the Legacy Estate Long Term Care facility.  She was born in Clifton, Texas on October 29, 1954, to Oscar and Jeweldine Hampe.  She received her baptism at St. John's Lutheran Church and received her confirmation at Trinity Lutheran.

She was raised in Clifton where she met her high school sweetheart, love of her life, and husband, Roy Kubiak.  She graduated from Clifton High School in 1973.  On June 15, 1974, Donna and Roy were married.  They were blessed with three children, Jennifer Kay Kubiak Darden, Wayne Bryan Kubiak, and Clint Jason Kubiak.  They raised their family in DeLeon, building their final home there outside of town.

Donna worked many years as a kindergarten teacher's aide for DISD.  She then went on to work for Mid-Tex Cellular until she retired.  During this time, she also helped out at all the peanut buying points Roy ran.

Donna had many loves, but her favorite was the time she spent with her husband Roy and her grandkids.  She loved baking with Callie and McCrae.  She loved playing cards and board games with Cooper and Brent.  There was never a holiday or family get together that the whole family didn't sit down and play 42 or 84.  Her favorite was fishing, especially since she always ended up catching the largest fish between her and Roy.

She loved her animals, spoiling them daily.  Donna was a hard worker, took care of her family, and had a huge heart.  She will be greatly missed.

Donna is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Kubiak; her parents, Oscar and Jewel Hampe; brother, Lloyd Hampe; nephew, Chris Hampe; parents-in-law, Bill and Victoria Kubiak; brothers-in-law, Christopher Kubiak and Bill Kubiak; niece, Brittany; and nephew, Christopher.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer and husband, Patrick; son, Wayne and wife, Karrie; son, Clint and wife, Brenda; grandkids, Cooper Darden, Callie Kubiak, McCrae Darden, and Brent Kubiak; brother, Dale and wife, Julie, sister-in-law, Donna Hampe; and in-laws, Reiko, Freddie, Leon and wife, Laura, Raymond, Ann, Patsy and husband, Marvin, Margaret, Beatrice, and Lucille; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services celebrating Donna's life were held Wednesday, October 16th, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the DeLeon First United Methodist Church with Don Hanson officiating. Interment followed in Clifton Memorial Park Cemetery, Clifton, Texas. Serving as pallbearers were Cooper Darden, Brent Kubiak, Wendall Lively, Cory Raibourn, Randy Barnes, and Jeff Brinson.  If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in memory of Donna.
