Donnie Clifton, 85, of De Leon, peacefully passed away from this life Friday, May 19, 2023. He was born February 5, 1938, in Fife, Texas (in the home of his grandparents) to Robert Lee Clifton and Jewell Louisa Petty Clifton.

Donnie lived in Santa Anna and retired from 3M after 30 years of service.  After retirement, he moved to the Eastland and Comanche county area. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed being outdoors.  He loved to cook and was quite a comedian and jokester.  Children were drawn to Donnie and some of his happiest times were spent interacting with kids.  Donnie was a devoted dad, loving grandfather, loyal friend, and believer in Christ. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his son, Jimmie Don Clifton and wife, Norma; daughters, Robbie Lee Clifton and Darli Garrett; grandchildren, Kacy Elaine Teague, Garrett Dalton Teague, LaKisha Jenae Stembridge, Stevie Renae Stembridge, Collin Taylor Stembridge; siblings, Harold Dean Clifton, Shirley Ann Hamlin, and Judy Kay Tidwell and husband, John; sister-in-law, Nelda Clifton; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Donnie has been reunited with his parents, Robert and Jewell Clifton; brothers, Teddy Gene Clifton, Bobby Arnold Clifton, Gerald Dewayne Clifton (Kipp); sister, Patsy Madeline Day; sisters-in-law, Rosie Inez Clifton and Dianna Kay Clifton; brother-in-law, Robert Leon Day; and two nephews, Michael Dean Clifton and Wesley Drey Clifton.

Memorial services celebrating Donnie's life were held Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Dublin First Baptist Church with Pastor Weldon Branham officiating.
