Dora Dean Grumbles, 80, of De Leon, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015.
She was born October 4, 1934, in Hawley, Texas, to John Sid Hankins and Georgia Mae Hudson Hankins. Dora married James Jefferson Grumbles June 24, 1954, in Granbury, Texas.
Dora was a resident of De Leon almost all of her life. Dora was a devoted Jehovah Witness. She was dedicated to sharing the word of God and serving the Lord. She was a loving homemaker for her family. She enjoyed taking walks and being outdoors. She loved to camp and spend time with her family.
She is survived by her sons, James Dean Grumbles and wife, Pamela, Jessie Dale Grumbles and wife, Melinda, John Jeffrey Grumbles and wife, Betty, Joel Grumbles and wife, Ruthie, and Jayson Grumbles; daughters, Rose Marie Starnes and husband, Mikel, and Sherry B. Williams and husband, Johnny; 20 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; brother, Johnny Monroe Hankins; sister, Janie Mosher and husband, Ted; and other extended family.
Dora was preceded in death by her husband, James Jefferson Grumbles; and her parents, John and Georgia Hankins.
Graveside funeral services were held Monday, May 18, 2015, at 2:30 p.m. in Howard Cemetery with Minister Uri Wren officiating.
