Dorthy Lera Branham, 88, of Desdemona, passed away Monday, December 19, 2016, with her family by her side.
She was born April 6, 1928, to Floyd W. Moore and Myrtie Lera Dyson Moore in Desdemona.
Dorthy was a long time member of Desdemona First Baptist Church. She retired from Tarrant County after serving as a Probate Clerk for many years. After retiring, Dorthy moved with her family to Desdemona in 1998 from Ft. Worth. She loved playing the piano and was a very talented musician. She also enjoyed knitting and loved spending time with her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her son, Darrell Branham and wife, Kay; daughters, Karen Hobbs and Paula Fonville and husband, Charles; sister, Lois Ervin; grandchildren, Charessa Higgins, Lance Hobbs, Shawn Branham, Talisa Satterwhite, Candice Meck and Chuck Fonville; 13 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Dorthy was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Branham; parents, Floyd and Myrtie Moore; and brother, Floyd Moore, Jr.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. a Desdemona First Baptist Church with Brother Hart officiating. Graveside services followed in Desdemona Cemetery.
