Earl Rogan, 85, of Stephenville, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013, in Stephenville Nursing Home.
He was born August 14, 1928, to Earl Kent Rogan, Sr., and Lula Belle Keng Rogan in Dublin, Texas.
Earl, a Navy Veteran, was a lifetime member of Turnbow-Higgs American Legion Post 240 in Stephenville. He selflessly served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam War eras, a distinction held by few veterans. He received many Medals of Honor for his service including the World War II Victory Medal, the American Area Ribbon and the Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon.
He was a member of Assembly of God Church of Stephenville. He owned and operated Rogan's Barber Shop in Stephenville for over 40 years. Earl enjoyed working in the yard, gardening and being outdoors.
Earl is survived by his sons, Gary Rogan and wife, Vivian, and Steve Rogan; daughter, Sharon Henry; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and other extended family. He was preceded by his parents; sister, Edith Braga; grandson, Jacob Rogan; and niece, Vickie Braga.
Graveside funeral services, with full Military Honors, were held Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. in West Memorial American Legion Field of Honor in West End Cemetery, Stephenville. Earl requested Full Military Honors be performed by The American Legion Post 240. Elder Bill Allen officiated the services.
