Elaine Boen Barnett, 79, of De Leon, passed away Friday, December 4, 2015, at De Leon Nursing Home.
She was born September 26, 1936, in Gorman, Texas, to Andrew Truman Boen and Dessie Snider Boen.
Elaine lived in the De Leon community most all of her life. She was a beautician for over 35 years in De Leon and owned and operated The Beauty Connection for 33 years. She loved dancing, listening to music, singing in church, and singing on the radio station in Hamilton in the 1950's. She also enjoyed sewing and quilting. She loved her family dearly and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Randall Boen and wife, Lydia; daughter, Monica Floyd and husband, Ronnie; grandchildren, Cassidy Floyd and Keisha Floyd; step-grandchildren, Jason Cogburn, Donal Cogburn and wife, Candice, Christopher Cogburn and wife, Leslie, and Andrew Cogburn; great-grandchildren, Marshall Cogburn, Ryan Cogburn, Riggin Cogburn, Bruce Cogburn, Taiah Cogburn and Jordan Elliot Trout; sister, Shirley Quinn; brothers, Jack Boen and wife, Linda, and Leon Boen and wife, Wanda; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Elaine was preceded by her husband, Daniel Barnett; parents, Andrew and Dessie Boen; first husband and Randall's father, Billy Alvarado; sister, Nancy Boen; brother-in-law, James Quinn; and sister-in-law, Sharon Boen.
Graveside funeral services were held Sunday, December 6, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in De Leon Cemetery with Brother Jackie Auvenshine officiating.
