Obituary

Eleanor G. Golden passed away May 4, 2017 at the age of 97. She was born in Big Rapids, Michigan, on April 20, 1920 to Murray J. Bailey and Lena (Valencourt) Bailey.

Eleanor was a proud veteran of World War II. She served honorably for two and one half years in the Women's Army Air Corp, 3rd Photo Mapping Squad, Mac Dill Field in Florida. During that time she met husband, Walker Golden. They were married in McKinney, Texas in March of 1946, a union which lasted for sixty-one years.

Following Mr. Golden's retirement from Texas Power and Light Company in 1980, they became full time RVers, traveling leisurely and extensively over the United States, Canada and Mexico for twenty-one years fulfilling their retirement dreams.

After the death of her husband in 2007, Eleanor moved to the Renaissance Retirement Center in Sherman, Texas. She continued her love for "seeing the world" with trips to Hawaii, Alaska and the Caribbean.

Eleanor is survived by cousins from Michigan Kathy and Joe Cudney, Phyllis Kemppainen, Joann and Sandra Grahl, Dianne and Russell Bowling, Deb King and Betty Clinton of Oregon and by special friends in Texas Linda and Sonny Marcom and Billie McInroe.

Per Eleanor's request there will be no services and her wishes were to be cremated.
