Estelle Robbins Lindley, 102, of Desdemona, peacefully went home to her Lord and Savior June 24, 2018, with her loving family by her side. She was born May 21, 1916, in Comanche County, Texas to Oliver S. Robbins and Lula Dodd Robbins. Estelle married her husband of 72 years, Raymond O. Lindley, in 1931. Raymond preceded her in 2003.
Estelle lived in Comanche County her entire life. She was the oldest living member of Desdemona First Baptist Church and held a membership there for at least eighty-five years. Estelle was a talented seamstress and knitted many keepsakes for her family. She loved to play dominoes games, especially 42. Estelle's favorite hobby was her family. She absolutely loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was abundantly blessed with 102 years of loving on her family. They were her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment in life. Estelle was a devoted and loving homemaker and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her by children, Charles Don Lindley and wife, Anna Marie, Eddie Lindley and wife, Linda, and Ann Miears; grandchildren, Jeff Lindley, Charles Lindley, Jr., and wife, Kim, Dirk Lindley, Lesa Simpson and husband, Jack, and Kim Brenia and husband, Roman; eleven great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family. Estelle was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; parents, Oliver and Lula Robbins; five sisters; two brothers; grandson, Dewayne Lindley; and son-in-law, James Miears.
Funeral services celebrating Estelle's life were held Thursday, June 28, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Desdemona First Baptist Church with Brother Charles Johnson officiating. Estelle was laid to rest beside her husband in Desdemona Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Desdemona First Baptist Church, in memory of Estelle.Thursday
