Eugene
Richardson
May 17, 1956 — May 25, 2022
Clarence Eugene Richardson, 66, of De Leon, passed from this life May 25, 2022, with his loving family by his side. He was born May 17, 1956, in Odessa, Texas to J.D. and Jessie Richardson.
Eugene spent his childhood in Kermit, Texas and moved with his family to De Leon in 1969. Eugene was a longtime truck driver for Kohler Company in Brownwood. After retirement, he went to work for De Leon ISD as the cross walk attendant officer. He loved the opportunity this provided him to visit with the community youth. Eugene enjoyed trucks and always loved to drive. He was a regular at the coffee shops in town and enjoyed coffee shop talk with his buddies. As he was able, Eugene would volunteer to be the De Leon downtown Santa every Christmas. He looked forward to that role all year long. His family meant everything to him, and he was always his happiest when spending time with his grandkids. In 2018, Eugene was Baptized at United Pentecostal Church of De Leon. He was a loving son, dad and granddad, loyal brother, and great friend to many. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
He is survived by his father, J.D. Richardson; children, Christie Owen and husband, Richard, and Caycee Richardson and wife, Tonya; brother, Don Richardson and wife, Darla; sister, Patti Johnson and husband, Johnny; sister-in-law, Millie Richardson; grandchildren, Charlie Richardson, Alyson Owen, and Maycee Richardson; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Eugene has been reunited with his mother, Jessie Richardson, and brother, Michael Richardson.
Graveside funeral services celebrating Eugene's life were held Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in De Leon Cemetery with Brother Kenneth Wilson officiating. If desired, memorial contributions may be made the De Leon Pentecostal Church in memory of Eugene.
