Gary Eugene Golden, 71, a lifelong resident of De Leon, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023, at his home. He was born November 30, 1951, in Gorman, Texas to Seborn Eugene Golden and Betty Frances Johnson Golden. Gary married his loving wife, Jaye, on July 25, 1992.

Gary graduated from De Leon High School Class of 1970. He was a skilled carpenter by trade and could build just about anything with his hands. He loved to be outdoors fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends. His grandkids were very special to him. He was a devoted husband to Jaye, a loving father and grandfather, special brother, and loyal friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Gary is survived by his sons, Eric Golden and R.J. Newby and wife, Oriana; daughter, Ashley Fantauzzi and husband, Josh; grandchildren, Paisley, Clayton, Aadi, Nolan, Kai, Brody, Brooke, and Kamryn; brothers, Johnny Golden and Jackie Golden; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family. Gary has been reunited with his wife, Jaye; parents, Seborn and Betty; and brother, Ronnie Golden.

Funeral services were held January 19, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Chapel with Brother Alan Sadberry officiating. Interment followed in De Leon Cemetery.
