Obituary

Gary Wayne Kyle, 1947 – 2018, beloved husband, father, and brother, passed away Tuesday the 27th of February 2018 at his home in Austin, Texas after a long battle with cancer.

Gary was born the 27th of April 1947 in De Leon, Texas to Archie Anderson Kyle and Mary Lema King Kyle.

To Gary, family meant everything. His favorite thing to do was to gather the children around him and feed them snacks and watch cartoons. He loved helping people; he would even help someone he had never met.

Gary worked in the brick industry for forty-four years. He started out as a fork lift driver in De Leon, Texas. He worked his way up in management and retired from Hanson Brick in Elgin, Texas. Gary liked to do woodworking. He and his wife even built bookshelves for their home. In his younger years, Gary liked to build and fly model airplanes. He and Shane would fly them or as Shane said "crash them", then build more. Gary liked to hunt and fish and was into archery. Gary once worked on his son's car and even painted it. He was a man of many talents and will be missed by his family. Gary was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He liked to be happy and not to mourn.

He was preceded in death by his father, Archie Anderson Kyle; mother, Mary Lema Kyle; and brother, Adrion Gerald Kyle. Gary is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Kyle; children, Michael Shane Kyle of Cedar Park, daughters, Veda Anne Charlton of Arkansas, and Patricia Lynn Piersky of Austin; eleven grandchildren; sister, Julia Gene Moore; and best friends, Andrew Gonzales and Noe Campos.

Funeral services celebrating Gary's life were held Friday, March 2, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home, De Leon. Interment followed in De Leon Cemetery.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Austin Hospice.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Association at PO Box 7262, Hillsborough, NJ 08844, in memory of Gary.
