Gary Don Moore, 73, a lifelong resident of De Leon, went home to meet his Lord and Savior Sunday, February 9, 2020, with his loving family by his side. Gary Don was born October 9, 1946 in Gorman, Texas to Thomas Kavanaugh "T.K." Moore and Mable Faye Rogers Moore.

Gary Don was a member of De Leon First Baptist Church and the Loyalty Sunday School Class. Gary Don loved listening to music of all kinds but especially loved up tempo Christian music. He also enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. Gary Don loved his family at De Leon Nursing Home and they were wonderful in caring for him for many decades. He always had a big smile on his face and was friendly to everyone. He loved his family very much and was always his happiest while spending time with them. Gary Don will be deeply missed by all his family and many friends.

He is survived by his brother, Thomas E. Moore and wife, Earlene; sisters, Bettie Sue Strube and husband, Carl Dean, and Clara Sanders; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and other extended family. Gary Don has been reunited with his parents, T.K. and Mable Moore; brother, Clois Eugene Moore; two sisters-in-law, Clara Faye Moore and Barbara Moore; and brother-in-law, Wayne Sanders.

Funeral services celebrating Gary Don's life were held Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at 1 p.m. at De Leon First Baptist Church with Brother Daniel Harper and Brother Kenneth Wilson officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Dr. Eddie Paul Moore, Randy Moore, Durwin Strube, Dean Strube, Jeff Moore, Rondall Sanders, Bradley Sanders and Gerald Voss. Honorary pallbearers were the members of the First Baptist Loyalty Sunday School Class.
