George Robert
"Bob" Wall
Dec 24, 1942 — Nov 30, 2022
George Robert "Bob" Wall, 79, of De Leon, passed from this life November 30, 2022. He was born December 24, 1942, in Gorman, Texas to Clyde Robert and Jewel Gilder Wall.
Bob graduated from De Leon High School Class of 1961 and then attended and graduated from Texas Tech University. He was an Executive Manager for Digital Equipment Corporation, a career that allowed his family the opportunity to travel and live all over the United States. He eventually took the opportunity to move back to Texas in 1987, and ultimately retired from Digital Equipment Corporation in 1993. Bob was not quite ready for stay-at-home retirement and quickly took a position driving a milk truck to keep busy.
In his spare time, he enjoyed many hobbies including working on the family farm and reading. He was an avid reader who read a few thousand books throughout his life. Bob was a firm believer in giving back to help others. He enjoyed helping and being a part of the De Leon Senior Citizen Center and volunteered at the De Leon Food Pantry and Comanche County Medical Center as much as he was able. Bob was a long-time member of De Leon First Baptist Church. He loved his Lord and did his best to serve Him. Bob was a devoted father and grandfather, a special brother and uncle, and a loyal friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his son, Michael Wall; grandchildren, Rachel Wall, John Wall, Joshua Wall, Jadon Wall, Joel Wall, Josiah Wall, and Jamin Wall; and other numerous extended family members. Bob has been reunited with his parents, Clyde and Jewel; son, Bryon Robert Wall; sister, Patricia Ann Wall; and daughter-in-law, Laura Ann Wall.
Funeral services celebrating Bob's life were held Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at De Leon First Baptist Church with Brother Paul Winegeart officiating. Interment followed in De Leon Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the De Leon Food Pantry, De Leon First Baptist Church, or charity of your choice.
