Geraldine King Hall, 86, of Lubbock, Texas, passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on February 24, 2026. Gerry, as she was called by family and friends, was born to V.O. King and Opal Cathey King of Ft. Worth on August 17, 1939.

Gerry graduated in 1957 from May High School with honors. She married Clovis H. McCary and they moved to Ft. Worth where she attended Texas Weslyn University. She got her first teaching job at Stripling Middle School of Ft. Worth where she taught 8th grade science. She married Thomas E. Hall on April 3, 1969. They moved to North Richland Hills where she taught at North Richland Middle School until her retirement.

After her retirement, she and Tom moved to a farm outside of De Leon where they lived until Tom's death in 2020. Gerry soon afterwards moved in with her daughter, Gwen, of Lubbock.

Her love of Jesus was seen in every aspect of her life. She was a longtime member of Riverside Baptist Church of Ft. Worth and later, Comyn Baptist Church outside of De Leon.

Gerry was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hall; stepson, Mark Hall; son, Joe Brian McCary; parents, V.O. and Opal King; and stepmother, Naomi King. She is survived by her daughter, Gwen McCary of Lubbock; sisters, Fran Brown of Brownwood, and Kathy Schmidt and husband, Werner, of Aledo; grandsons, John Hurley and wife, Selina, of Tolar; Joshua Tyrel Hurley of Lubbock, and Jacob McCary of Clarendon; one granddaughter, Jesse Ragan and husband, Joshua, of Lubbock; seven great grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Comyn Baptist Church with Brother Ray Seckinger officiating. Graveside committal will follow in Comyn Cemetery.
